I didn't have much hope for good light on this gloomy autumn morning in the Tetons but if you don't try, failure is guaranteed. After standing in this location for more than an hour I was about to give up when a small gap in the cloud cover on the eastern horizon enabled the rising sun to project a soft strobe of warm light on the tree line across the water.
