Mesa Arch Sunrise. Mesa Arch is one of the most photographed locations in Canyonlands National Park near Moab. Most western landscape shooters have this on their shot list or already in the bag. In many classic images of this event, you will notice the sun positioned to the left side of the arch. I wanted to shoot this close to the Winter Solstice when the sun was far to the south and did so on December 27, 2012. Standing alongside my son, J.C. Lansche, on a 5 degree morning made it special....
