Teton Mist. The Teton Range in Wyoming is a magical place. No matter how many times I visit here, the stunning grandeur of these magnificent peaks robs the breath from my body. Teton Mist. The Teton Range in Wyoming is a magical place. No matter how many times I visit here, the stunning grandeur of these magnificent peaks robs the breath from my body. On this particular morning, I rolled out of camp at 5 a.m. with hopes of photographing from one of the more classic Teton vistas along the valley floor. When I breathed the chill spring air, it was thick with moisture. I looked to the starless sky and soon realized that fog and clouds had settled into the valley following the previous night's storm, negating any chance of seeing the mountains from lower elevations. So I stayed high on the ridge near my camp, hoping that this vantage point would give me a view of the The Grand Teton and Mt. Moran if and when the fog and clouds lifted. It was so wet before sunrise that I had to continually wipe the moisture from my lens. The minutes ticked, the light brightened, and the clouds and mist began a slow retreat as dawn transitioned into morning. Before long, muted sunlight emerged from the east and the quickly developing scene nearly brought me to tears. It was just so darn beautiful, and big, and wide. And made me feel so small. « less
