Golden Eagle Portrait. I caught this magnificent bird out in the open before sunrise this morning. Rarely have I been this close to a golden eagle and I am always impressed by their size and strength. While the scene only lasted for a couple of seconds, it was enough give me a quick shot and take my breath away. Bald eagles seem to get most of the attention, and beautiful as balds they are, golden eagles remain my absolute favorite raptor. Summit County, Utah. January 20, 2014.
